Dear Fellow Believers in Christ, (Genuine Obedience is through Christ in us)
What makes Jesus Christ -- the true example of "genuine obedience"? Why is genuine obedience to the Holy Spirit and the Word crucial factors? What is the significance of having Christ --the Person of genuine obedience actually living in us since our Spiritual rebirthing? Did you know that Christians will be judged at the judgement seat of Christ by genuine obedience to the Christ in them -- Paul's true gospel? We need the Holy Spirit to give us a genuine and full revelation of the Christ that lives in us to express the Father's will in genuine obedience through us.

GENUINE OBEDIENCE

"For by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous" (Rom. 5:19).

First, The Obedience of Christ is the True Example of Genuine Obedience
Jesus "became the author of eternal salvation to all that obey Him" (Hebr. 5:9). Jesus Christ lived by a life of another – the Father. Everything that Jesus did you find His clear focus on the Father. Jesus said to His disciples, "My food ever is to do the will of Him who once then sent Me, and to finish His work" (John 4:34). Jesus was "the express image" of the Father in every sense (Hebr. 1:3). Jesus spoke the words of the Father (John 14:10). Jesus in His life and every work demonstrated the Father's love and Spirit (John 1:18; John 14:11). Jesus was so in genuine unity with His Father that He honestly told His disciples, that if they saw and knew Him, that they saw and knew the Father (John 14:7-9). Jesus proclaimed that the Father who dwelt in Him was doing the works in and through Him (John 14:10). The obedience of Christ to let the Father live in and through Him for others is the true example of genuine obedience.

Second, Rebirthed through Genuine Obedience of the Spirit and the Word
The Holy Spirit came to teach and reveal Christ to us. The Holy Spirit came to initially convict us of our sin and need for a savior (John 16:8-11). Any lost sinner must have genuine obedience to the Holy Spirit and the Word of salvation that He brings to them. There must be genuine obedience to the Spirit and the Word in order for anyone to be Spiritually rebirthed. You can't birth yourself. Genuine rebirthing comes about the very split second when you believe the Spirit and the Word with genuine obedience. We are "born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever" (I Pet. 1:23). The Holy Spirit baptizes us into the Body of Christ and places the Person and Spirit of Christ within us (I Cor. 12:13; Gal. 2:20; Rom. 8:9). We are called "the Body of Christ" for a reason. Christ now lives in us – His many membered body, throughout the entire world (I Cor. 12:27).

Third, Genuine Obedience is to the Truth and the Faith of Christ in Us
Genuine obedience walks in the truth and the faith of Christ now living in us. This is why Paul emphasized, "it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me" (Gal. 2:20). Paul knew that when he had been Spiritually rebirthed that there was a great exchange that took place. Every part of the sinful Satan nature that was in us since the original sin of Adam was removed and replaced with all of Christ (Rom. 5:12,19). Do you realize, that at the Spiritual rebirthing, you received all the grace that was completed by Christ on the cross? Jesus the Person of genuine obedience now has come to live inside of us. As a result, we have his genuine righteousness and genuine holiness living in Him in us. Our life is not now measured by what we could ever do or accomplish. Our life is measured by how much genuine obedience we have to the truth and the faith of Christ who lives in us, letting His sincere love outpour to others (I Pet. 1:22).

Fourth, The Saved are Judged on Their Genuine Obedience to True Gospel
Why is Paul speak out so strong about the true gospel in Galatians 1:6-9? Paul declares that if anyone preaches a different gospel to the grace of Christ, perverts the gospel of Christ, or preaches any other gospel than the gospel he shared, that they should be accursed. He says this twice for emphasis (Gal. 1:8-9). I can assure you that one day every saved person will appear before the judgement seat of Christ (II Cor. 5:10). Do not be deceived by any doctrine or tradition of man, for Paul declares that "in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel" (Rom. 2:16). We will be judged by Paul's gospel, which is the only authorized and true gospel for the Church and the Body of Christ. We better know it. We had better have genuine obedience to the true gospel. There will also be many others who go to hell because they refused to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ (II Thess. 1:8).

Fifth, Genuine Obedience to the Father is Learned through Suffering
Our genuine obedience example is Christ. "Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered" (Hebr. 5:8). Religion has taught us that all suffering is of the devil. I beg to differ. Our Father is in charge of this universe. He is very much in control. Paul declares, "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Rom. 8:32). I used to think that all things were just the things of love and grace – just all the sweet and nice things. Then, Paul goes on to talk about tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword (Rom. 8:35). Paul even quotes Psalm 44:22 where it says, "we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." So, all things in verse 32 also include all these things. This is why Paul cried out that he "may know Him" in "the fellowship of His sufferings" (Phil. 3:10). Suffering is the tool often used by our Father to release the greatest expression of Christ in us in genuine obedience in love to Him and an outpouring expression for others.

Sixth, Genuine Obedience Comes Out of the Knowledge of Christ in Us
These are things of the Spirit which go far beyond natural comprehension. Paul tells us our natural eye cannot see, or natural ear hear, nor perception has not even entered our heart for the things that God has prepared for us who love Him (I Cor. 2:9). "God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God" (I Cor. 2:10). The Church today needs a genuine and full revelation of Christ in them as their very life. We need to know that every thing about the old man – Adam is dead and was put to the death in Christ on the cross (Rom. 6:6). We need the revelation that we have the genuine resurrected Lord of glory living in us as us. Christ's genuine obedience comes out of the knowledge of Christ in us (Rom. 6:11-22; 8:5-11).

Seventh, The Entire Body United in Christ's Genuine Obedient Love Flow
We certainly have an individual relationship and fellowship with the Son and the Father. The majority of doctrinal discussions in the Pauline epistles, you will discover that the pronoun "you" is in the plural in the Greek text. Our Father wants a lovingly joined and cohesive whole body flowing together in the Spirit (Eph. 4:16). The ultimate desire of the Father is to see the entire corporate Body with Christ's genuine obedient love flow expressed to others in a Body ministry.
