The Original Lie

Arthur J. Licursi

Being created by God in His image, mankind was uniquely made.

- Man was created to have free will; like God Himself, who we must admit is the ultimate free will.

- Mankind also was created with a human spirit, located in the midst of his being (Zech 12:1, Dan 7:15), thus giving him the correct organ necessary to be able to receive God’s governing Spirit of life (Jn 4:24a, John 1:12), into his human spirit - Spirit to spirit (2Tim 4:22, 1John 4:13, 1Cor 6:17).

Thus man was well made, and God called it “very good”. God crafted man to be a living receptacle or container, to the intent that he would receive God’s life, and then grow up to enjoy and express God’s indwelling life and nature (2Pet 1:4) resting in peace while God walked in Him. This sounds so good that we might say, “So what happened to put humanity into the predicament in which we find ourselves”.

Mankind’s History

Early on, the first and well-made man Adam, the patriarch and federal head of all humanity, made a choice of the heart that affects all mankind to this day. When Adam ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, he chose to receive “another” governing spirit, by receiving the lying words of the Serpent, which became in him the poison of Satan’s virus-like nature that got into mankind’s flesh body (Rom 7:17-23). Adam thought, by gaining such knowledge as he would gain by eating of that forbidden tree, he would become wise; he could be “as God knowing good and evil” (Gen 3:4-5). God confirmed what had happened, that Adam had in fact had become “as gods, knowing good and evil” (Gen 3:27). Thus mankind to this day is deceived to think he is capable of being the god of his own life. This is what I call “the original lie” of the original liar (Jn 8:44b, Gen 3:4-5).

The deception in all this was that Adam had gained a correct knowledge concerning righteousness; he had no way to live it! The once natureless man now had a nature; the fallen Serpentine life and nature (Eph 2:3-4) that is at enmity with God and cannot please Him (Rom 8:7).

Adam’s choice, as the progenitor of the entire human race, set the course of humanity, including each of us (Rom 5:12). To this day the choice for every man is “Who will be god; God, or our self as a god?”

This original lie has even permeated most Christian religious teaching in most church groups, where well-meaning but ignorant men encourage believers to be “like Jesus”, not knowing that Christ is alive within that child of God, and no imitation is required. WWJD is a lie from the pit of hell that keeps believers wrapped up in the cycle of the original life of self-ability. It suggest that we can, of our own resources, decide to imitate Jesus of Nazareth, while the Apostle Paul says, “henceforth no we Him no more”.

“…though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.” 2 Cor. 5:16b

How We Each Began

As Adam’s offspring, we each came into this world deceived by the “god of this world”. We’re all born in Adam with the warped mindset of the Devil, which says, “I’m capable of governing my own life”. We are filled with pride. Even after we are save by regeneration, we falsely think we know how to be a Christian, until our mind becomes renewed to a new mindset (Philip 2:5, mind is “mindset” or attitude). We do not realize that the god of this world (Satan) has blinded our mind, the key part of our distorted heart.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Cor. 4:4

Proceeding to live as “the god of our own life” (Gen 3:4-5,15, 22, 27), we independently make choices, to live good, bad, religious, ascetic, or whatever. We must admit that at one time or another, even our attempts at religion were done out of the self-interest of gaining acclaim or respect. We make our choices according to our independent self-godhood, mainly out of our selfish and prideful interest, most often desiring to look good, even while knowing we are not so righteous in our living.

Reality Breaks Upon Us

Now as a Christian, the deceit and falsehood of our self-godhood must come to be exposed, and that usually comes by the failure of our self-effort to achieve righteousness by our self-effort. Every Christian should have two major crises in life.

1) When we realize we cannot really make life work and save ourselves, so we receive salvation from perdition.

2) This 2nd crisis occurs sometimes 20-30 years after being regenerated, when through the pressures and situations of life we come to truly realize by experience that we really cannot live the Christian life by our effort. We usually must face the crisis of failure of self-effort before we will genuinely let go of our life, and turn our heart to trust Christ not only to save us from hell, but to also save us from our old self.

This paper is to help us understand the “turning of our heart”, that we might be saved daily in our living. It is in this place of turning to and trusting Christ indwelling us as our righteous life, which occurs after our initial salvation, that we may then enter into His rest (Heb 4:9-10).

Dividing our Soul & Spirit

Now regenerated, you, as an individual, are the person of your heart. Out of it are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). Jeremiah said, “the heart is wickedly deceitful, who can know it”. The answer to Jeremiah is, the Lord knows our heart, but usually we do not. It requires the light of God’s divine indwelling radium to expose the thoughts and intents of our soul’s heart. It requires Him, the true light, to shines out of our spirit, via our spirit’s conscience, into our soul, to reveal our heart to us. The “you” that is revealed in His shining is “the individual you,” so far as your soul’s relationship to Him.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Cor. 4:6

Always A Self/Soul

Our soul is like a branch on a tree. Christ in our spirit is as the tree’s life flowing within the branch. The branch never becomes the life, but it is a vessel for the life. Likewise our soul never becomes spirit, but it contains and expresses the spirit within.

It is only by His living, indwelling, Word, by Christ’s shining light of life within us, that we come to see and discern our soul, seeing it as … different from our spirit, often with out-of-sync motives and intents.

“For the word of God (Christ, who also is light) is quick (living), and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Christ Hidden Within

In Heb 4:12 above, we see the ”marrow”, the life-source of the blood, hidden within the bone. Christ is that marrow, as Spirit of life our spirit, … hidden within the bone, as our soul, as concentric circles one is hidden within the other. The “joints” here speak of the “movement” or “action” of our soul’s doings that are to be governed by the ”marrow”, by Christ’s indwelling Spirit of life.

Initially born-again, we remain the gods of our own lives. We’re often confused as to who’s “the responsible one”, who is our source inwardly guiding or prompting us, “Is that me, or is it God speaking to me, or, is it the flesh?” This is why we need to have our soul divided from our spirit by the exposing that comes by the shining of Christ life within. We often resist His indwelling life’s governing of our movements. Christ speaking within us is as a sharp and clear indwelling Word, able to divide our soul-self from our spirit, that we may become aware, seeing clearly the issues of our life, that we may choose life. We come to know this by learning the sense of His indwelling life (1Jn 2:20, 27). By His inner speaking, which we know as a sense of His indwelling life, that we know all that we need to know in order to live the Christian life.

Anatomy Of Our Heart

What is the heart of man? The sum of the parts of man are spirit, soul and body (1Thes 5:23), man’s heart is NOT another or fourth part of our being. Then what is man’s heart?

The heart is the three-part soul self (mind, emotion and will), … plus the “conscience” of our human spirit. Consider the following as only a few of the many proof texts indicating the parts of the heart being as such.

The “mind” of the soul is part of the heart.

Matthew 9:4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil

In your hearts?

Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The “will” of the soul is part of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12b “… and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents (willful) of the heart.

Acts 11:23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them All, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

The “emotion” of the soul is part of the heart.

John 16:6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

John 16:22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

The “Conscience” of the human spirit is part of the heart.

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil (dirtied) conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Paul lived by his conscience:

Romans 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness (by concurrent spiritual perception) in the Holy Ghost,

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Acts 24:16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

Our relationship in life and with the Lord is always of the heart. Our relationship with God is initiated and maintained according to our heart. The heart is the container of our unique and individual being, just as a building harbors what is inside.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Religion may look on the outer of a man as a measure, but God looks upon our hearts.

“… for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

The Conscience (Greek “sundenesis”, a co perception)

The Lord attracts all mankind, including unbelievers, by speaking from outside into their heart, via the conscience of their human spirit.

“For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;” Romans 2:14-15

Whatever enters or exits man’s heart does so via his conscience, the conscience is an entrance to the heart of man. The conscience therefore controls or limits a man, making him to be either open or closed. God speaks into man via the conscience of his human spirit. It is as a man’s antenna or receiver. The conscience is able to hear the Holy Spirit’s conviction, if it is dirtied; his consciousness needs to be (John. 16:8) that peace may be restored.

We all recognize that voice that is deeper than our mind - it is God speaking via our conscience. Anybody that “is of God heareth him” (Jn 8:47). The Word (not the Bible) of God indwelling the believer’s spirit speaks into a man’s heart, first via the conscience, and having no hindrance in conscience, then into man’s conscious mind, as the intuitive mind of Christ.

Receptivity

It is usually when a person has suffered failure and loss sufficiently to recognize his neediness of God that he is then ready to hear and receive of God. This usually comes only out of recognized need. When we were saved that Word we heard was one of love and conviction and forgiveness spoken to the heart to convict us of our failure; that we need a savior in order to just make life work on this earth - we are not usually concerned with eternity at this point. This conviction comes by God’s Spirit speaking words of love, hope, and forgiveness for sins, acceptance and the hope of new life in Christ. At just the right time we might hear the gospel shared or, as a Christian, we may hear Him speaking in our heart and be touched in this way. Sometimes it occurs while we are all alone in the very midst of our dark night of suffering that He touches our heart. He alone can speak those words to our heart, but only after He has prepared us by reducing us from the loftiness of our falsehood, reduced us to our genuine heart. He brings down the high places. Man, apart from the work of the Lord within him, doesn’t know his own heart

“The heart is deceitful (deceiving us) above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jer. 17:9

God knows man is living under a liar (Satan), living in deceitful darkness, so the Lord permits circumstances and situations of life to come as pressure upon us, that He might shine light to reveal our true condition. Remember, God knows already - its man who is in darkness, deceived by the god of this world. Our failure is not a disappointment to God - it is intended to lead to revelation and light for man. The Lord knows our heart. He tests us to reveal our heart’s motive … to us.

“I the Lord search (penetrates) the heart, I try (test) the reins (interior motive), Jer. 17:10a”

Hearing God

Many Christians say “I just don’t hear God” or “He never speaks to me.” To this is say, "that simply is not true". He speaks in us because all those born of God hear God, it just that we may not discern Him or we may not listen. He that is of (Gk. ek, out from) God heareth God's words: John 8:47a

Thus, every born-again, regenerated child of God is of God, meaning we are “out from God’s very own loins and have His life within us”. Every Christian already knows everything they need to know in order to live in accord with Him who indwells them, … if they will listen to Him speaking within (1John 2:27).

“But ye have an unction from the Holy One, (Christ) and ye know all things.” 1 John 2:20

“And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even (His) eternal (divine) life. These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth (dwells) in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.” 1 John 2:25-29

All the OUTER Voices Vs. Christ Within

There is an answer for the confusion many Christians suffer. In order for us to hear Him within, we may consider but not be governed by the many voices outside of us as our instructor; such outer voices as doctrine, other people, the Pastor, biblical principles (only “the Spirit giveth life”); though these things in themselves may be good, but they are not a substitute for the inner speaking of Christ in our spirit. We must consider His speaking within to be as the final arbiter in all matters of our life. Paul tells the Ephesians “you have not yet so learned Christ”. Paul is saying we must come to know and understand the Christ who is in us - not about Christ outside of us, but rather come to know Him by learning by the experience of His life in us.

“But ye have not so learned (understood) Christ; 21If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:” Ephes. 4:20-21

Self for Self

We all start out in life as a self who lives for self. Our only motive is out of self-love - we may do for others, usually so we may gain acclaim, reputation, respect, etc. Look at the naked self as expressed by a child who has not yet learned to put a good face on his utter and complete self-interest. As Christian adults, we’re still full of self-interest, until He changes our heart. Actually, there is no difference in the living and expression of the unsaved, unregenerate person and the unyielded self-serving Christian.

Mostly, we as Christians, proceed unchanged, living our life in this way until God deals with our heart. As newborn Christians and for many years, we are not yet “pure in heart”. Pure means, unmixed through and through, unalloyed, as is a single element. Pure gold is 24 carat, anything less is a mixture with other elements. Pure means much more than being clean on the outside. A Christian having more than one aim or goal in their heart is an impure Christian. Many aim to walk by Christ, but also they aim to be somebody of reputation or to be regarded in “their”, job, career, or Church ministry? Such Christians are yet full of “themselves” and have consequently not yet seen Christ in them as their only life (Gal. 2:20). It certainly is okay to desire to be accomplished in your job or vocation, but that should be out of a pure heart, being yielded and led under the full governing of Christ in you as your life. Recall from Isa. 9:6, the government of our lives is “upon His shoulders”.

Pure of Heart

Impure Christians are those who have a mixture in motive. Yes, they really do love the Lord - but mostly they still love themselves. Even in serving God they like the idea of a tithe - 10% for God and 90% for their “self”. The born again child of God who is growing is one has given up control of his or her life. Yes, many Christians do seek God, BUT they also have other ambitions for themselves.

“Blessed are the pure (single) in heart: for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8).

Impurity not only hinders our hearing God but keeps us from recognizing God’s work in our lives. Having mixture is like two eyes looking in two different directions …making things “blurred.”

E.g., Mixture would be having Christ Himself in you … and also “YOUR OWN” Christian work for God, done out of a motive to satisfy yourself. This is mixture to satisfy the ego of self in order to look good or to be somebody in order to be regarded in Christian circles.

Only Christ Working Through Us Counts

Christ must be our ALL and He must be the worker in us if and when any work is to be done. Only His work will endure the test of fire. Self-works have a source in the natural (hay, wood and stubble) and will be consumed His fire. The work done by a self-seeker and that of a Christ-person may well appear the very same - but the motive of heart is the issue to prove their source and real worth.

“Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness (without mixture) of heart, fearing God:” Col. 3:22

Turning From The Law To The Lord Himself

So, the Lord must transform us by turning our hearts … from law to Him alone.

“But even unto this day, when Moses (law) is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail (flesh) shall be taken away (cast off). Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we (in soul-self) all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed (metamorphoo, transformed as a caterpillar) into the same image from glory to glory (one level of expression to another), even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2Cor. 3:15-18

A man’s attempt to keep the law is the source of failure, and thereby, enlightenment for man. The “law”, in accord with the Knowledge of Good and Evil illicitly obtained in the Garden, demands that we will fail in our in our everyday attempt to live righteously by self-effort to serve the law for righteousness. This is because the law is what actually empowers sin (1Cor 15:56) in our flesh. By our failure, He turns us to Himself, out of recognized need; utter frustration, helplessness, hopelessness, and neediness. Having “no way out” reduces us to Him. This is His grace and mercy at work in us.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philip. 2:13

The Practicality of Turning

Let us now get very practical. How does this “turning” actually work to be enable us to overcome the many temptations we may face in our daily life, whether being tempted to anxiety, fear, certain gross sins of thought or deed, etc?

First we need to know some important things, as our basis for daily living.

- First we must know we live under 100% grace of God, and that there is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus”(Rom 8:1), no condemnation that is placed upon us by God our Father. Self-condemnation and the condemnation of the Devil may be present.

- We must know that we, as our old man, our independent acting self, are crucified with Christ, and though Satan may tempt us with fiery darts shot into our minds, Satan has no power over us. “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin.” Romans 6:6-7

- We must adopt the mind (mindset or attitude) of Jesus of Nazareth, who was utterly dependent upon the Father (Phil 2:5-8).

- We must know that we are tri-part consisting of: 1) body, where the Satan nature dwells, 2) soul, where we as an individual self dwell, and 3) spirit, where Christ as our new and governing life dwells (1Cor 6:17).

With this understood, we can then see where it is that the three involved are located, Satan in our flesh body, self in our soul, and Christ in our human spirit (Rom 8:8-10).

- We must realize that we have a simple part in living by the spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Our mind is to be submitted to the rulership of Christ in our spirit, so as not to act independent of Christ. “For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,” Romans 8:5-6

From this we can see that inner peace can be our guide, confirming if we are moving in accord with Christ or not.

Visualize this as three concentric circles; we, as a soul, stand between our outer body and our innermost spirit, in the middle ring. As we live, we have choices to make that are choices between yielding to one or the other of these two.

Knowing & Choosing Christ

I know that we all often face apparent forks in the road, having a choice to make. Sometimes, as we are considering a matter, we may be prompted to choose by the impulses of sinful flesh, tempting our self-interest; or we can just yield to Christ within, to live in accord (stay, abide) in Christ who is within us. We must learn to yield to and trust the sense of His inner peace to guide us, maintaining our union with Christ as our new life.

“And let the peace of (of in Greek, ek, from and with) God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” Col. 3:15a.

The Lord speaks in us by the sense of, or lack of, peace.

Some might say, but how do we know what choice to make when we are tempted to take some action toward another person, or toward other blatant, sinful, temptations. We can know if the consideration we are making may be of Satan if we sense that we are in distress, darkness, heaviness within, or if we have fear, or we just have a general lack of inner peace, these are not of the Lord.

On the other hand Satan cannot counterfeit inner peace, which is of Christ alone. By this we just know that what we are considering may a right or wrong choice. If we have left our abode in Him, we just turn our heart back to Christ within us to have His peace restored to settle our soul. This is to “learn Christ” in us. In these experiences we are learning the “law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Rom 8:2), the One who dwells within us. Law (in Rom 8:2) in the Greek, is “nomos”, meaning, “normal way of operation” or “normal way of regulation”, which is from within. Thus, it is “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col 1:27).

Picture This

One day the Lord gave me a visual to help me see what is involved in “turning our heart”. I often now use it to demonstrate this truth when I am sharing it with a group.

I select two people to help me demonstrate.

1. I place one on my right to represent Christ in my spirit,

2. I place the other on my left to represent sin in my flesh,

3. I stand in between them, as my soul/self.

4. As a tempted Christian facing making a choice, I then turn around to face sin on my left, and it can easily be noted that my back is at the same time turned to Christ, making “Christ of no effect (Gal 5:4b). This is what happens when we attempt to fight sin’s temptation by our self-effort. Our back is turned to the one who is able to live the Christian life. We are on our own. This will always fail according to 1Cor 15:56b.

5. Then I then turn 180° to face Christ in my spirit, and simultaneously my back then is toward sin, “making sin in my flesh of no effect” (Ron 6:6-7).

So from this we see that we do gain victory NOT by fighting sin, but rather by turning our heart to either return to, or to maintain communion with Christ in us.

Split-Second Inward Turning

As a matter of utter practicality I should address the matter of split-second turning that often is necessitated when we are tempted by the quick thought to retaliate against what somebody may have said to us, or something we just don’t like, or by something we have seen with our eyes. As soon as I am aware of this situation I simply, turn my heart by saying audibly, or under my breath, "Lord Jesus, I trust you, you are my life”. This is my inward turn to the Spirit of Christ in me. In that instant the situation is usually swallowed up by the flow of His life, and the temptation is disarmed.

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” Romans 8:13

Is Failure That Bad?

Paul said “all things work together for the good” (Rom 8:28-29). “All things” includes the good and the bad, both success and failure. In my life, failing and recognizing my failure, and then yielding to God has been the predominant way of growing to know Him who lives in me as my overcoming life. So, even if we fail, it also works altogether for the ultimate good. Having failed, we come to recognize our neediness, so we now turn to Him. He then can reveal His unconditional love and His indwelling and overcoming life to us. In this way our failure works for the ultimate good. He opens our hearts, often first by the sense of His love, then He may touch our conscience, showing us “our self-for self” vs. His self-less giving, and His unconditional love. In the warmth of His love He permits us to see our self, as we are, when apart from Him, and then in union with Him. In His manifested presence we melt at His grace and mercy. I know this is exactly how I reacted when He showed me to me.

In 1994 He got my attention by exposing my utter failure in living my life, filled with anxiety, devoid of rest and peace. He told me that He had dealt with me regarding my relationship to the world (outside of me), but now He was now dealing with my self, my restless heart. It was wonderful as I felt convicted, but I had no sense of being condemned. I melted in the glow of His shining and loving acceptance. His light that exposed my self also warmed me as His loving, healing, transforming presence.

His light and life (John 1:4-5,9) shines into our dark hearts (2Cor.4:6), changing us into His glorious image. I believe that the very same light of God that convicts us, at the same time is remedial, having power to renew our independent soul-self to be a Christ-self. His light is as divine radium, a healing balm, one that can kill what does not belong and renew or transform at the same time. His love constrains our hearts to walk with and by Him as our loving Lord and governing life.

Pure Heart & Cleansed Conscience

Now, with a cleansed conscience, His love can flow out of our pure heart to others.

“Now the end of the commandment is charity (love) out of a pure heart, and of a good (cleansed) conscience, and of faith unfeigned (without pretending):” 1 Tim. 1:5

Note that Paul kept his conscience void of offense toward God and men.

I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.” Acts 24:16

Now, with our conscience cleansed by His blood, our fellowship is kept in His light.

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:3-7

How to Walk

So, we walk in the light (keeping our conscience clean) in order to maintain the free flow of the fellowship. We enjoy and cooperate with His flow of life out from our spirit, out through our soul (mind, emotion and will) to touch others (Philip. 2:15).

If we’ve sinned we have departed from our union with Him in spirit. We’ve left the only light and life in us, BUT we can maintain our conscience to recover our fellowship with Him.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Our Indwelling Guide & Governor

The “Christ-you” in your spirit, guiding the individual soul-you, cannot ever sin. His righteous seed of life in your spirit is the REAL you within, guiding the individual soul-you!

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3:9

But the “Independent Soul-you” cannot do other than to always sin. (NOTE: Sin occurs when one lives in separated from Him who is our indwelling righteousness, 1Cor 1:30)

If we say that we (self) have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1Jn. 1:8

In union, with fellowship established and maintained … we now have … the intuition of our human spirit enlivened to hear Christ within us. He abides in us, in our spirit (2Tim 4:22). Now we just abide in Him, living according to His inner speaking. We now have this inner knowledge (within our spirit) called the intuition of our spirit. It is the anointing or unction of the indwelling Spirit of life in Christ Jesus within us. It is as a sixth inner sense. His inner speaking is truth since He is the truth. Christ, now is now the Spirit (2Cor 3:17), in our spirit (2Tim 4:22a, 1Cor 6:17,Jn 3:6).

We Know Intuitively

The inner intuitive knowledge (Gk. eido, in spirit) you already have precedes the mental understanding (Gk. Ginosko, in mind). Revelation by the Holy Spirit is needed to truly understand in the mind. This revelation begins when He uses whatever is needed “to turn us in heart”, to let go and trust Him 100% with 100% of our life.

It’s All The Lord’s Work

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philip. 2:13 So, it is the Lord’s work to convict us in heart, usually by use of the circumstances and situations of life, to turns us to Him within. This exposes our impure heart and our condition of neediness. He touches our hearts with His love, revealing His Son to us (and then revealing Him in us). He purifies our heart of other ambitions. He is both the refiner and the refiner’s fire that purifies our heart. Thus He cleanses our conscience, so union may be established and maintained in soul. These is so we might live by His indwelling life, and learn by revelational understanding, to know who He is to us (Eph. 4:20). I am convinced that we will enjoy the continuing revelation of Him for eternity. <End>
