A Proper Worldview

 By Arthur J Licursi

In this day of turmoil and uncertainty at home and around the world, a genuine Christian who holds a proper Biblical worldview is protected from fear because of who and what he knows, and trusts in.

Consider the benefits of holding a proper Christian worldview that is based upon trusting The Lord according to truth of the Bible. For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7)

A true believer, with a dispensational understanding of the Bible, sees and considers the temporal and the eternal according to the Bible.

While we look NOT at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are TEMPORAL; but the things which are not seen are ETERNAL.” (2 Corinthians 4:18)

  • As a genuine regenerated (born-again) believer knows the eternal Lord personally, and that his relationship with God as His Father is sure and secure.

For WHATSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD OVERCOMETH THE WORLD: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4

  • He knows that ALL that occurs touching his life is at the hand of the Lord who loves him and ALL is working “for the (eternal) good.”

And we know that ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

·         He knows the Bible dispensationally and so its information not misapplied. Therefore he knows he does not live under the “condemnation” (Rom 8:1a) of “the Law” dispensation, but rather under the pure grace of “the dispensation of the grace of God” (Eph 3:2).

Paul wrote; “… for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:14

·         And because of “Who” he knows, he has no fear of the present or future.

Hebrews 2:15 And DELIVER THEM WHO THROUGH FEAR OF DEATH WERE ALL THEIR LIFETIME SUBJECT TO BONDAGE.

Philippians 4:6-7 DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND YOUR MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS.

Thus a genuine Christian believer’s proper worldview and faith affords him the innate blessings of …

·         Knowing his destiny is sure and secure for eternity… in heaven.

Philippians 3:20a But OUR CITIZENSHIP IS IN HEAVEN

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 … we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN SHALL BE CAUGHT UP (RAPTURED) TOGETHER WITH THEM IN THE CLOUDS, TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR: AND SO SHALL WE EVER BE WITH THE LORD. 18 WHEREFORE COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS.

  • … Knowing The Lord as Father, as His literal born child.

John 1:12 But AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM (Jesus), TO THEM GAVE HE POWER TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD, even to them that believe on (trust in) his name:

John 3:16 For GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT.

·         … Having a witness of this within himself.

Romans 8:16 The SPIRIT ITSELF BEARETH WITNESS WITH OUR SPIRIT, THAT WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD.

  • … Knowing he has the “Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” within him.

Romans 8:9-10 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the SPIRIT OF GOD DWELL IN YOU. Now IF ANY MAN HAVE NOT THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, HE IS NONE OF HIS. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but THE SPIRIT IS LIFE (Zoe) because of righteousness.

  • … Knowing he has eternal life within.

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

·         … Knowing he is valued by the eternal creator God of the universe now as His literal Father.

Psalms 103:14 (AMP) For HE KNOWS OUR FRAME, HE [EARNESTLY] REMEMBERS AND IMPRINTS [ON HIS HEART] THAT WE ARE DUST.

·         … Having within himself confidence and guidance for living day to day.

1 Cor 2:16b WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.

Psalm 118:24 THIS IS THE DAY WHICH THE LORD HATH MADE; WE WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.

·         … Having and enjoying rest and peace within his self by knowing and trusting in the Lord.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but TO BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED IS LIFE AND PEACE.

·         Having a means to successfully endure the sufferings common to all mankind.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but GOD IS FAITHFUL, WHO WILL not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also MAKE A WAY TO ESCAPE, THAT YE MAY BE ABLE TO BEAR IT.

·         … Having a freedom to appreciate and enjoy his life in the moment.

Nehemiah 8:10b (AMP) be not grieved and depressed, for the JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH and stronghold.

John 10:10 I AM COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE (ZOE), AND THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY (TO THE FULL).

James 1:17 EVERY GOOD GIFT AND EVERY PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

·         … Being free to enjoy life regardless of the decay that’s inherent in the world and physical life because he knows his real life is spiritual.

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, THERE IS LIBERTY .

John 6:63 It is THE SPIRIT THAT QUICKENETH (GIVES LIFE); the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

·         … Having a glorious expectation of eternal blessing in accord with the Lord’s eternal purpose.

Romans 8:28-29 WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

·         … Enjoying the security of “knowing” what otherwise is unknowable.

1John 2:20 But YE HAVE AN UNCTION (ANOINTING) FROM THE HOLY ONE, and ye know all things. 1John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth IN YOU, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
