“Salvation by Grace through Faith

…Without Works”

By Arthur J Licursi

…a multi-part series defining “the faith” from which

“…some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling…” 1 Timothy 1:6

In this 21-part series we will examine “salvation” under the terms of what the Apostle Paul calls “the faith,” as it is seen and enjoyed in this present day of the “dispensation of the grace of God.” (Eph 3:2) for “the church, which is His (Christ’s) body (Eph 1:22b-23a).

Paul admonishes Timothy, his “son in the faith, to “…charge some that they TEACH NO OTHER DOCTRINE…” than the “gospel of the grace of God” that Paul received by direct revelation from the ascended Lord, “for the Gentiles” (Eph 3:1-3, Gal 1:11-12).

1 Timothy 1:1-7  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; 2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. 3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, 4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. 5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: 6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; 7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

As we proceed in this series we will clearly define "salvation" and its sole basis in this age of “the grace of God.”

Then also we will examine the cause and effect of the great errors being promulgated by the church-at-large as it has “SWERVED (MISSED THE MARK – DEVIATED FROM THE TRUTH).” Its false gospel has deceived many and led to the weak Christian commitment we see among some many so-called believers, and the widespread apostasy we see today. Over the past 70 years most of the church has turned away from the pure Pauline “mystery” gospel (Rom 16:25) to “another gospel,” which is “not” the gospel (Gal 1:6-7).

In His pure grace and love,
