Dear Fellow Believers in Christ, (Genuine Mind Renewal is Christ fully expressing Himself in us with the Mind of Christ)

For what purpose did the Father Spirit-rebirthed His Sons and put His Son in them? How does genuine mind renewal save us from the power of sin? How do we co-partner with Christ with this shared-life in Him and with Him as a living sacrifice? How is genuine repentance and genuine mind renewal tied together? If the Father put the genuine Christ in us, does He want us to be spiritual actors to duplicate or look like Christ? How are we transformed by the renewing of our mind? Who is in charge of all genunine mind renewal? How can Christ flow through us with His power in us? Holy Spirit let us see Christ in us in spirit and truth through a genuine renewed mind.

GENUINE MIND RENEWAL

"I continually beseech you, brothers, through the compassion of God, to once then present your bodies an ever living sacrifice, holy, well-pleasing to God, your reasonable worship service. And be not ever conformed to this age, but be ever transformed by the renewing of mind, in order for you to continually prove what is the good, and well-pleasing, and complete will of God" (Rom. 12:1-2, Expanded Greek Translation – EGT).

First, We are Birthed by the Spirit to Give us Christ to Live His Life In Us
Paul is addressing plural you, plural brothers – the already born-again saved brothers and members of the Body of Christ (Rom. 12:1). These Spirit-rebirthed sons with an active quality decision in their heart at Salvation, have once then presented their bodies to be an ever living sacrifice, and were Spirit-rebirthed by God to fulfill it. At our Spirit rebirthing, we were saved from the penalty of sin. The payment of our sins by Christ on the cross is applied to our sin debt account and we have a zero balance or paid in full by Christ for all eternity (Rom. 6:23). We receive Christ, who is our eternal life, to live within us (Rom. 5:10; I John 5:11,12). Christ is our new nature and new creation life (II Cor. 5:17). Christ, the Incorruptible Seed – the Living Word of God, has come to live His life in and through us for others. We live by the Person (Gal. 2:20) and Spirit of Christ in us (Rom. 8:9). The Holy Spirit has come to teach us of Christ.

Second, Through Mind Renewal We are Being Saved from the Power of Sin
At Salvation, we still have the same old mind. There has been no exchange in and of the mind. The primary role of the Holy Spirit is to be the teacher and revealer of Christ (John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:13-15). Paul commanded us following our Spiritual Salvation by 100% grace (Eph. 2:8,9), to "continually work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Phil. 2:12, EGT). Work out is the Greek word katergazesthe and used in the present tense, which means in context that we continually work our mind salvation or mind renewal process together with Christ. Work out is in the middle voice, which means we, the subject, produce and take part in the action. The Holy Spirit renews my mind in, to, for, and about Christ, and we partner with Christ by making corresponding decisions and choices to allow Him to express His life in and through us for others. This genuine mind renewal process is where we are continually being saved from the power of sin.

Third, Mind Renewal Means We Co-partner with Christ to Live Through Us
Genuine mind renewal means we co-partner with Christ to live the Christ-life in and through us. Paul says, "I ever live, but it is no longer I, but Christ ever lives in me" (Gal. 2:20, EGT). I ever live and actively make the choices, but it is no longer I, but Christ who ever actively lives in and through me for others. That in a nutshell truly describes the Christian life and ever being a living sacrifice (Rom. 12:1). Christ actively does His part and He provides His strength and life. We do our part we yield to Him and let Him live His life and expression through us doing the Father’s will. It is an active participation on both of our parts – a shared-life.

Fourth, The Christian Life is a Full Exchange of Us for the Life of Christ
This doesn't mean we are active to obey the law, do works, or try to please God in and of ourselves (Gal. 3:1-3). That is old religious flesh responding from the unrenewed mind that thinks and does those sorts of things. Christ is the only fulfiller of the Law and He now lives in us to fullfill the Father's will in and through us. In fact, Christ is the only One who can and has ever fulfilled all of the Law, all of the time. We are saved by Grace (Eph. 2:8,9). We are to live by the Person of grace. The mind must be renewed by the Holy Spirit. We have to hear the Holy Spirit and be active to yield to Christ, so only Christ comes forth in us. The Christian life is not us getting a new attitude. The Christian life is not us becoming a better person in our thinking or doing. The Christian life is us being fully exchanged for the life of another Person, Nature, Spirit, and Word to live in and through us – Christ!! Genuine repentance, and genuine mind renewal is to cease from self trying to be anything, but letting it all be Christ!!

Fifth, The Father Put the Genuine Christ in Us and Desires His Life >From Us
Rebirthed sons must quit trying to be spiritual actors in their attempt to be like Jesus. The Father didn't provide His sons a Spirit-rebirthing, and put His most precious Son in them for life, strength, liberty and Spirit flow – just to have them try to live an improved self-life instead of Christ. When Spirit-rebirthed sons try live in their own by their own strength, attempting to be righteous, holy, or good apart from Christ. Even to be obedient to the law in the flesh to please God is like a slap in the face to Christ. While none of these things seem to be bad things, they are imitations of Jesus, and substitutes for the genuine Christ. The Father wants and desires the genuine Christ coming forth in His sons.

Sixth, We are Transformed by the Renewing of Mind into Christ in Us as Us
"And be not ever conformed to this age. . ." (Rom. 12:2, EGT). Conformed is the word suschematizesthe which means to fashion yourselves to this world. We must not let the world actively dictate to us, and we must never follow anything the world, the flesh, or the devil has to offer. "But be ever transformed by the renewing of mind" (Rom. 12:2, EGT). Transformed is the word metamorphousthe which is a total metamorphosis – like the caterpillar turning into the butterfly. God totally does it. I can’t and don’t do metamorphosis myself. This Greek verb is in the passive voice here, which means the subject – brothers only receive the action, but do not produce it. It is strictly God born and done in me and through me by Christ as the source and not I. That's why this genuine mind renewal is not just a better self. It is a transformation into a whole new person – Christ living in you as you, as a "new creature" shared-life (II Cor. 5:17).

Seventh, Christ Now Has a Mind to Flow Through Us with His Power
Renewing or anakainosei as it used in context is not a verb but a noun describing the name of the process or metamorphosis that God is doing in the mind. I absolutely cannot do anything but yield and submit to God. Certainly, you seek Him. You can make decisions to obey him, but ultimately the continual renewal of the mind process can only be done by the Holy Spirit, as sent by the Father (John 14:26;15:26;16:13-15). The Holy Spirit will clearly teach, that Christ is your life, your only life. The mind of Christ then sees everything through the finished work of the Cross. Christ now has a mind to flow though us with His power!
