Dear Fellow Believers in Christ, (Angels - God's Messengers and Warriors of Protection for Us)

What are the main roles and ministry of angels for both the lost and the redeemed? What supernatural abilities, methods, and miracles are employed by angels in carrying out their mission? How does God intend our relationship to be with angels one day in heaven? How is the Father using the Church to replace Lucifer and the fallen angels? Holy Spirit show us Christ and how angels administrate the Father's will according to the Word of God.

ANGELS

But to which of the angels has He ever said: 'Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool?' Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?" (Hebr. 1:13-14).

First, The Roles of Angels in the Eternal Plan of the Father
Our Father has angels in His heavenly administration to carry out His will in this universe. The Father chose three (3) archangels to lead the triad angelic host of heaven. Gabriel is the messenger archangel that leads one-third of the angelic host in the primary administration area of speaking and communication with man. Gabriel primarily supports the Holy Spirit and the Omnipresence of God. Michael is the warrior archangel that leads one-third of the angelic host in the primary administration area of carrying out God's holy will against all opposing forces. Michael primarily supports the Father and the Omnipotence of God. Lucifer is the light bearing archangel that led one-third of the angelic host against God. His primary role was to support the Son, who is the Light of the world, and to support the Omniscience of God. Our Father sent Michael and his angels to throw Lucifer, more commonly known as Satan or the Devil, out of heaven. In the Father's eternal plan, He has given the Church to be the Body of Christ. The eternal Church of the rebirthed sons is the Father's choice to replace Lucifer and that one-third of the angelic host in heaven.

Second, Gabriel and Angelic Spirits Announce and Declare Good Tidings
It is no wonder that Satan would hate Christians and try to get them to use his deceptive knowledge and understanding. As rebirthed sons, we instead need to know Christ in us as our wisdom and knowledge (I Cor. 1:24; Col. 2:3). So, our Father has sent Gabriel and his ministering spirits to minister to us who will be heirs of salvation (Hebr. 1:14). Gabriel literally stood in the presence of God and was sent to Zacharias to announce to him that his wife Elizabeth would bear a son called John (Luke 1:19,13). Later Gabriel was sent to Mary to tell her of miraculous divine conception of Jesus the Son by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:26,31,35). The Father surely sent Gabriel again to announce to the shepherds the glad tidings, "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:11).

Third, The Father Uses Ministering Angels to Warn and Deliver His People
The Father has used ministering angels throughout history to instruct and warn His people. Two (2) angels were sent to Lot to warn him that Sodom and Gomorrah would be destroyed (Gen. 19:1;12-13). The angels got Lot in his house, closed the door on evil men with evil pursuits, and miraculously struck all the men with blindness (Gen. 19:10-11). So, angels can help deliver us and perform miracles when necessary to fulfil their heavenly directed tasks. In this case, the angels stayed with Lot and kept urging Lot to leave the city (Gen. 19:15). While Lot lingered, the angels took hold of his family's hands and literally brought Lot out of the city. Angels can help deliver us from impending judgement or physical harm. Ministering angels have delivered some from accidents.

Fourth, The Father Uses Michael and His Angels to War for His People
Michael, the most holy angel in the universe, and his warring angels literally cast brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah out of heaven (Gen. 19:24). Everything of those cities, including the inhabitants, was devastated and beat into the ground (Gen. 19:25). From all historical records, it appears that Sodom and Gomorrah are now located at the bottom of the South end of the Dead Sea. In another situation, Joshua followed God's instructions. On the seventh day when the trumpets blew and the people shouted, it is believed that Michael and his warring angels literally beat the walls of Jericho straight down into the ground flat (Josh. 6:20). This allowed Israel to go into the city quickly and destroy it. In another event, Michael and his warring angels cast down large hailstones from heaven upon the Amorites directed at killing them as they fled from Israel (Josh. 10:11). These angels are often behind the scenes and not visible to anyone.

Fifth, Angels Appear to Us for Instruction and to Our Enemies to Bring Fear
Some times angels have announced themselves to the ones that they are giving instructions or warnings. Other times they appear in a human form and have performed their ministering tasks, with others unaware that they are angels. We are told, "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels" (Hebr. 13:2). Some times angels can appear to the enemies of God's people to provide disconcerting fear to them. We rarely have opportunity to see what is happening in the heavenlies. There is spiritual warfare going on all the time in the heavenlies. The Father has sent ministering angels to be there for His will and for our instruction and loving protection.

Sixth, Angels Will Play a Significant Part During the Great Tribulation
Angels will play a significant part during the Great Tribulation period. Angels will sound trumpets and execute the judgements upon the earth (Rev. 8:7). There are even four angels, released by the sixth angel, who will kill a third of mankind (Rev. 9:15). They lead an angelic army of 200 million (Rev. 9:16). From all indications, angels have great size and great strength. Angels also employ supernatural abilities, methods, and miracles to carry out their instructions from the Father and the Son. One of these days the seventh angel will sound, and the mystery of God will "be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets" (Rev. 10:7).

Seventh, We Will Serve the Lord Jesus Christ with the Angels in Heaven
The finished work of the cross has bought and paid in full for a pretribulation rapture of the Church (I Thess. 1:10). There is no condemnation of judgement to those who are in Christ (Rom 8:1). I am sure Gabriel will be the angel there as the voice and trumpet for the Father at the rapture (I Thess. 4:16). The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout to call home every member of His Church. Those who remain will be caught up together to meet those that have already gone home before (I Thess. 4:17), who came back with him in the air (I Thess. 4:14). Then, we shall always be with the Lord (I Thess. 4:17). We will talk to angels and explain some things that they have desired to look into (I Pet. 1:12). Some time we will even judge angels (I Cor. 6:3). We will now reign with our Lord Jesus Christ forever in His administration of the Omniscience of God.
